Housekeeping Assistant

Full Job Description

The main purpose of this position is to ensure that all guest accommodations are cleaned to a 4 star standard, according to our detailed standards. This position is essential to the successful operations of our accommodation.

What you’ll do

  • Providing exemplary customer service by meeting our four service promises: engaging each guest; providing enthusiastic, friendly service; anticipating guest needs; and taking ownership.
  • Perform essential duties of the daily housekeeping services in assigned units and common areas to standard, within specified time limits.
  • Cleaning of villas and homes includes: making beds and changing linens as required, cleaning and sanitizing bathrooms and kitchens, dusting, vacuuming, mopping, placing furniture in its original position, and replenishing amenities.
  • Ensure all kitchen inventory is accounted for and replaced/reported.
  • Updating and prioritizing rooms to be cleaned.
  • Annual Deep Cleaning units, including assisting with moving furniture, high dusting, full clean of unit.
  • Noting and reporting inventory shortages or damages to the Manager of Housekeeping.
  • Responsible for stocking and maintaining a clean/organized working environment at all times – this includes the linen lock-up, housekeeping carts and vacuums, etc.
  • Responsible for assisting in the removal of trash, recyclables and dirty linens as seen fit or directed.
  • Handle guests’ complaints and take action to resolve problems – inform leadership when required.
  • Assist other housekeeping employees in maintaining clean and organized working and public areas.

Qualifications

  • Able to meet the physical demands of the job, including:
  • Lifting – Must be able to lift up to 20 lbs throughout the day, including up to 15 lbs from waist to above shoulder level frequently throughout the day (essential duty).
  • Must be able to work above shoulder level frequently to fulfill cleaning tasks throughout the day (wiping walls, mirrors, windows, putting away inventory, hanging shower curtains, etc).
  • Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs from floor to waist occasionally.
  • Must be able to push carts and pull equipment weighing over 100 lbs on a regular and continuing basis throughout the day, as well as carry a 5lb vacuum frequently throughout the shift.
  • Must be able to pull out and push in an average of 7 sofa inserts per day.
  • Team Oriented;
  • Proven ability to work under tight time demands;
  • Ability to maintain a positive attitude at work;
  • Proven guest service ability with an attention to detail;
  • Previous experience in housekeeping is an asset but not required (Will Train).

Salary: From $18.00 per hour

Guaranteed 40 hours per week for a minimum of 20 weeks!
